Laughlin, Nevada: Sunny Gaming Destination near the Hoover Dam

Laughlin is about 100 miles south of Las Vegas, but it's a gaming destination in its own right. At the city's nine casinos, there are plenty of slots and bingo is big here.

Laughlin averages 300 sunny days a year—a fine climate for exploring natural and manmade wonders. To get in touch with nature, hit up Big Bend State Recreation Area to go hiking along the Colorado River. For a manmade spectacle, head about 80 miles north to Boulder City to see the famous Hoover Dam, which sends thousands of gallons of water tumbling 70 stories into Black Canyon every day. Though its sheer size is captivating, you'll also appreciate the dam’s surprisingly elegant art-deco design.

I bought 2 Groupon for 2 rooms at the Tropicana and then when I checked in I had to pay again. The check in agent said, no you didn't pay, you just reserved the room. Checked my visa statement and sure enough, double charged. What the heck. Now I have to chase my money. Not pleased AT ALL.

Photos added. Very Good 3 night stay My wife I stayed here for 3 nights. Check-in took less than 5 minutes on a Friday at 5pm. The room was basic (like we expected). It was very clean with nice beds, quick internet and many channels on the TV. The room was also quiet with a view of the river and other hotels. The casino was fun with very friendly staff. If you do not care about being on the river, the Trop works fine. I will return on my next visit to Laughlin.

Tropicana Hotel and Casino Laughlin Nevada We went to the Tropicana Casino and Hotel in Laughlin Nevada for my wife's birthday. The stay was awesome. And the casino and restaurants were really good. But one restaurant stood out from all the rest. It was the Carnegie’s Café. And one server by the name of Rhonda was a huge stand out. She made sure that my wife's drink that she ordered was exactly to her specification. This was a big thing for my wife. Rhonda was also very polite and considerate to our needs. So, we wanted to say thank you to the Tropicana Hotel and Casino. And a very huge thank you to Rhonda our server.

Run away don’t stay at this place. Terrible experience This place is really really bad. The Staff is rude, the place doesn’t have any heat in the rooms. They charge you a daily resort fee and refuse to service your rooms. It took us 2 days to get house keeping service although we followed up several times. We couldn’t get any towels, soap, toilet paper etc… we went to the front desk, spoke with management and it still took 2 days to get basic items or for housekeeping to service our rooms. We also had no heat in our room, when we complained to the front desk and management we was told that we should have adjusted the relay switch. That is totally crazy because no customer should be expected to fix anything and we should not have any level of access to a relay switch. Rooms should have heat in the., it is the most basic expectations. To future consumers considering staying at this place, I say run away and DO NOT stay at this place, you will have a terrible experience
