Hotel at a Glance: Warwick Melrose Dallas

The Warwick Melrose Dallas shares something in common with some of the city's most well-known landmarks. It was designed by C.D. Hill, the architect behind the First Presbyterian Church, the Dallas Municipal Building, and several mansions in the Swiss Avenue Historic District. The 4-star hotel carries on the tradition of opulent decor and upscale amenities that date back to the building's opening in 1924.

  • Lavish rooms and suites have French-inspired furnishings and comfy beds topped with 300-thread-count sheets.
  • Gourmet dining: Landmark Restaurant's chefs prepare New American dishes such as Beef Tenderloin and Truffled Lobster Mac and Cheese.
  • Craft cocktails in the hotel's Library bar offers wines, champagnes, imported beers, and more.
  • Extra perks: include a newly-renovated fitness center, shuttle service, and complimentary Internet access.

Dallas, Texas: Rejuvenated Urban Districts and Historical Parks

Though some know Dallas only for the massive AT&T Stadium (which is actually in Arlington), the city is also an enclave of arts and nature, overflowing with botanical gardens, art galleries, and live theater. Historic Main Street connects many of the city’s recently rejuvenated urban districts, as well as the popular Main Street Garden, a block-long public park surrounded by architecturally significant buildings.

A short walk from downtown Dallas, you’ll find horse-drawn carriages clopping along brick streets in the city's historic West End district, which dates back to the 19th century. This part of the city also contains Dealey Plaza, where President Kennedy was assassinated in November 1963. At The Sixth Floor Museum at Dealey Plaza, housed in the former Texas School Book Depository, you can visit the spot where Lee Harvey Oswald is believed to have shot at Kennedy’s presidential motorcade.

The room was comfortable and well appointed. But the best part was a fabulous surprise when I entered the room -- champagne and chocolate covered cherries to celebrate my 70th birthday, as well as a sweet card that was signed by several staff members. I was treated exceptionally well upon check-in downstairs and was helped to find the spa. They also held my luggage all day at the front desk because I arrived way to early for check-in. I highly recommend this hotel. The restaurant food was also exceptional at breakfast.

The staff were incredibly helpful during our stay (especially thanks to Rachel from the front desk for going above and beyond!), and the hotel is in the perfect spot to walk around the restaurants and bars. Beautiful rooms, the view from our 3rd floor room was so nice! Will definitely be staying at this hotel again, thanks for a welcoming experience!

Great location and huge rooms, older hotel but has a certain charm to it. We had a great stay.

Go somewhere else! would give zero stars if I could. Our reservation was canceled or never executed by either the hotel or trip advisor that we booked from with no warning or explanation. We drove in Friday evening and got to hotel and the informed me there was no reservation for me and no rooms available and made absolutely no effort to help us find alternative accommodations. When we reached out for assistance, the staff was incredibly rude and dismissive, acting as if it was our problem to deal with. Their lack of professionalism and customer service was shocking. Avoid this place at all costs unless you enjoy being stranded without a room and treated with complete disrespect. It was a younger man and older lady at front desk and when I asked for help to get my car from valet and reload bags as I’m trying to figure out where to stay, they told me to walk outside and tell valet. Very unprofessional. Find another place!

We really enjoyed it! We enjoyed our stay but most of Rachel at the front desk aided us in the most humblest of ways and professionalism Thank you ! I hope to come again and get to experience Dallas more in detail. But most of all going to the Texas Discvwey garden was a must especially the butterflies _

A SOLID FIVE We had booked through a third party service. Booking.com The hotel had NO RESERVATION for us. Even after showing the confirmation and PIN number and endless emails. We were celebrating my 61 birthday and our wedding anniversary. Alma Leon, I believe that helped us, went ABOVE AND BEYOND! I was in tears and we were able to stay. The room was fantastic. The Library Bar never disappoints. Room service was great. Staff and Valet super friendly. This hotel is in a great location since all the BEST restaurants in BIG D are in that area or within a 5 mile radius . The beds are so comfortable ask for a view of downtown if you can.. Being from the Dallas area, this is always one of my favorite places to say . We did not get to eat in the landmark restaurant, but the menu looked absolutely incredible.! I would definitely return and was forever grateful that they were able to help us celebrate this wonderful time in our lives.
