San Diego, California: Electric Nightlife and Historical Attractions

San Diego's sunny, comfortably warm weather and 70 miles of coastline have long attracted out-of-towners, but the city's inland scene is no slouch, either. The Gaslamp Quarter is arguably the trendiest listing on the National Register of Historic Places. The area forms both the historic center of town and a hub of nightlife, with nearly 100 Victorian-era buildings occupied by high-end boutiques and gourmet restaurants.

A stroll through iconic Balboa Park takes you past 17 museums, as well as the world-famous San Diego Zoo. There's also the vibrant Spanish Village Art Center, a living gallery where local artists produce pottery and oil paintings. In Old Town, shops in Mission-style stucco buildings sell colorful woven baskets and maracas. Nearby stands the Whaley House Museum, dubbed one of the Most Terrifying Places in America by the Travel Channel. Ghosts of former residents are said to inhabit the rooms, which are filled with Victorian furniture and eerie dolls.

Unhappy guest This was in a bad place. It was surrounded by homeless encampment. It's really a hotel. It is not a resort. When we signed up with worldmark it was supposed to have been for a three bedroom resort. There are not any amenities at all not even a pool. This was the worse experience we ever had dealing with what are suppose to be a resort. On top of that it wasn't worth the money. I was supposed to had two weeks available but once I had payed for my two weeks in full we were told that we had to use them in less than a month. San Diego is really nice but the next time we fly out there from Atlanta we will definitely stay somewhere else. The only free parking is on the side of the street. I didn't take any pictures of the hotel to send to family and friends because it wasn't nice enough. To make matters worse it was our 22nd anniversary.

"Throne is too low for you to be treated like a King or Queen" How low can you go and when you get there, can you rise to the occasion? The throne in our suite was one foot off the ground. I suggest changing the commode to suit the height of the average person and include a grab rail to provide added safety should the floor be slippery from a bath or shower. Otherwise, the staff members were attentive and accommodating and the resort, although small, was spotless.

Prison room in bad area!! Studio Suite with no windows.. First time staying at this property via RCI and very disappointing.. our studio has one window that faces a wall..3-4 feet away from window so it is like an enclosed tomb! no housekeeping or housekeeping services.. gym is an elliptical, a treadmill and a weight set? My home Gym is bigger and across the street from the front door is a homeless encampment and tons of trash!! We will never stay here or use ur RCI again!!

Good Location by Balboa Park. The staff is awesome especially Nayelle Sanchez! Easy to get to popular attractions and very close to the zoo. Guests are able to use the downtown electric cars (FRED) to get anywhere within the downtown area. Also easy to catch the trolleys.

Horror experience DO NOT STAY here DO NOT STAY HERE. HOTEL CLEANING PEOPLE STOLE ALL MY JEWELRY AND LET HER GO. ROOM WAS ALSO DIRTY AND I LEFT WITH A RASH ON MY THIGH. DONT BE CHEAP AND STAY HERE I LEARNED THE HARD WAY AND NOW I LOST THOUSANDS IN JEWELRY AND THE MAID WHO CLEANED MY ROOM IS NOT AVAILABLE. HORRIBLE SERVICE. Hotel manager told me insurance would reimburse me, but that was just a tactic to get me to leave. I travelled back home to be alerted the GM has done the opposite of what I was told.
