Wyndham Kauai sherawater is worst place for your moneys worth This is one of the worst experiences I have ever had with a resort. Front desk is so indifferent to guests and service does seem to resonate with them somehow. We reached early for a 4pm scheduled check in. Guess what room is not ready and will not be ready for few hours. Fe hours kept extended. We had a long day to reach there and this lack empathy and service spoiled our vacation. Will not ever stay at Wyndham.

BEWARE: $250 Fee Added to Your Reservation Upon checking in, they very quickly tell you there’s a $250 “hold" they put on your credit card in addition to your reservation costs. The front desk tells you the $250 will be released upon check out; however, 2 days later, it's still being charged. I don’t know what the $250 is for since they text you the night before you check out to tell you to empty the trash from the unit & run the dishwasher w/all your dishes. After returning home (2 days after checking out), I called & spoke w/Heather who first told me that I needed to call my bank if the $250 doesn’t return after 3 days. I asked her to check if the “hold” was removed & she said it wasn’t & I needed to speak w/a manager/Dale or Kate who would contact me about the $250 still showing as a “hold. I texted #201-676-9704 to reiterate my conversation w/Heather & Heather responded! Over 5 hours later, Heather called me back &said Dale wasn’t coming in & the $250 would automatically be removed from the “hold” & suggested I call my bank if the $250 wasn’t returned on the 3rd day after check out—it’s the fault of my bank. The manager/Kate never called back, but finally texted after Heather called back. Kate texted that there is no option for them to manually release the $250, but that it’d would automatically release after 72 hours. Michaela then called about the $250, but I said Heather already called back & Kate texted. There may be fraudulent practice & a need to call BBB.???When checking out, the cleaning persons were on the ground floor. We had not even checked out (via text), when they were looking up at our unit on the top floor. We had not even exited (checked out of) the room, when the cleaning person was entering the unit. We had an hour left to check out. We have NEVER had this happen to us. It's very rude. Also, there was a huge piece of trash (e.g., like a recyclable grocery bag) outside of our balcony on the grass area.

Breathtaking View Most Shearwater rooms have wonderful ocean views. First time here it rained all week. This past week was clear. The view from our unit was breathtakingly beautiful. Sunrise, midday, sunset, moonlit...hard to leave our balcony.

Shearwater's view is amazing...but We traded thru RCI to stay at the Shearwater after hearing so many comments on the amazing views from the units. Most properties in Princeville do not have a view of the water, so I was very excited to arrive. After a long flight, we stopped at the grocery store, had a car full of luggage and supplies and headed to the North Shore. The Shearwater resort is not staffed at all, so we had to check into another property down the road. We asked for help with the luggage since we were on the 3rd floor with no elevators. She said she’d send someone over in a few minutes. Well, we waited for about 15 minutes and started hauling the bags up to the room. An hour later, I called the concierge and told her to cancel the request. Nobody ever came to help us. Strike one…We got into the room around 4:30pm, the sun beating in thru the windows, and found out there is no air conditioning in any of the units. The trade winds were not blowing, and it was pretty warm. Turned on the ceiling fans to find out that they didn’t move past the low setting, not much relief. Strike 1.5..ok, not horrible because the view was amazing. Unpacked all the food, started looking around the kitchen and saw tiny ants crawling everywhere. The windows are old and warped, lots of open spaces for bugs to enter, especially at night I saw bugs all over the walls. You can’t shut the windows or you’ll suffocate. Now we are definitely at Strike 2. If you try to call the front desk, they do not answer the phone. Anytime I needed something for the room, i.e., garbage bags, soap, detergent, etc. I had to get in the car and drive to the other property. Went to the pool, the jacuzzi jets weren’t working, tried to BBQ on the grills, no utensils. I was told to drive over to the other property to pick up a metal tong…No housekeeping service or light cleaning all week. Our microwave was full of mold. Even though the view is amazing, there are too many other issues that soured the trip so I will not be returning to this property, Sorry Wyndham, Strike 3.

our stay after getting home and being sent the final bill for stay, an extra almost 200$ charged to my CC, not only county taxes, but a timeshare occupancy tax of 13.16 a night, and a 95$ RCI split week housekeeping charge, what is that??????? the resort stated that it was a RCI charge, when I called RCI they say it is a resort charge, so what is it ??? We have stayed here several times, but this will be the last, with extra charges like this. very disappointed and beware of concierge, they talk about the discount you receive booking through them, but you have to attend a presentation to receive the discount, who wants to sit through a presentation when you have been an RCI member for years and could probably tell them a few things, because of this, we missed out on a luau.... very disappointed
