Luxury Log Cabins Sheltered by Lush Wilderness
All year long, Blueberry Lake Resort runs a photo contest for its guests and posts the monthly winners online. The winning photographs show travelers amid the resort’s gorgeous landscape in Mont-Tremblant, Quebec. A mother and two daughters paddle on the glimmering Blueberry Lake in one of the resort’s complimentary canoes; in another, a young woman trots along a hiking trail with a golden lab at her side through some of the 300 acres of lush forest that surround the property. It’s a photogenic area all around, and when you’re done checking out the scenery, you can retire to one of 60 luxurious cabins—each of which feature high-end amenities.
Punch in the personalized code on the automated keypad and enter the 2,340-square-foot Papineau chalets, which feature four bedrooms and three bathrooms spread out over three floors. Once inside, you’ll immediately notice the floor-to-ceiling cathedral windows that look out to the wooded setting. A fully equipped kitchen and living room with a stone fireplace make up the main floor. The second and third floors have additional bedrooms and bathrooms, and all chalets have a game room with a pool table, ping pong table, or foosball table, as well as a private hot tub. Outside, the expansive balcony is decked out in patio furniture and a barbecue pit has a 270-degree view of the area.
During the warmer months, you can keep the family occupied with a wide variety of activities. Feel free to use the heated outdoor pool, tennis or sand-volleyball courts, and canoes and kayaks at your leisure, free of charge. Private hiking trails crisscross the property. At night, you can settle next to flickering lanterns on the outdoor terrace.
Labelle and Mont-Tremblant, Quebec: Canoeing and Hiking Amid the Laurentian Mountains
Labelle and Mont-Tremblant is a haven for outdoor activity, lined with national parks, rivers, and the Laurentian Mountains. The area is best known as a skiing destination, but in the warmer weather, most folks gravitate toward fishing and golf. Mont-Tremblant National Park is lined with some 400 lakes and 6 rivers; it’s worth it to hop on a kayak or canoe for a group tour of the scenic Red River.
To take full advantage of the area's natural beauty without leaving dry land, hop aboard one of the horse-drawn cabriolets, which trundle through quaint villages on slopes of Tremblant.
