Cape Cod Resort with Wellness Spa and Indoor Wave Pool

The spirit of Cape Cod fills the Cape Codder Resort & Spa, both inside and out. The walls surrounding the indoor wave pool and 24-person hot tub are decorated with a hand-painted mural of the surrounding landscape, showing lighthouses and sand dunes topped with undulating seagrass. In front of the mural stands a replica of a ship with two water slides shooting out the front, a playful version of the schooners chugging through the Atlantic waters outside. Even the name of the onsite Beach Plum Spa pays homage to the region, referring to a native fruit-bearing plant that helps prevent beach erosion and sustain coastal wildlife.

At Hearth 'n Kettle Restaurant, all meals are made fresh, in-house from original recipes under the supervision of an executive chef. Many of the entrées are prepared using all natural, organic and locally grown ingredients, with selections ranging from hearty soups and chowders to fresh, native seafood and traditional comfort foods such as chicken pot pie. The other onsite restaurant, Grand Cru Wine Bar & Grill, serves choice cuts of beef and fresh seafood as well as more than 20 different wines by the glass.

In a secluded nook outside you’ll find the Rainbow Falls heated pool, which stays open year-round. When the sun sets, the pool comes to life with an underwater LED light show. At the Beach Plum Spa, all the products used are natural or certified 100% organic. You can apply the spa credit included with this getaway toward treatments such as a manicure, a 60-minute wellness massage, and or a Chakra Dead Sea salt bath.

Cape Cod, Massachusetts: Quaint Villages, Protected Beaches, and Miles of Shoreline

In the late 19th century, Cape Cod began to blossom into a vacation destination as visitors swapped crowded coastal cities for the sandy shores of eastern Massachusetts. Today, the arm-shaped peninsula encompasses a string of idyllic fishing villages, rolling dunes, and 300 miles of sandy shoreline—and it’s still the place where many East Coasters choose to spend their leisurely vacation days. Popular attractions include fresh-seafood restaurants, quaint stores, and bicycle trails, such as the 22-mile Cape Cod Rail Trail that wends through Dennis, Harwich, Brewster, Orleans, Eastham, and Wellfleet.

But there’s also plenty to do in winter, when the crowds are a lot smaller. On the uppermost tip of the Cape, the free-spirited art colony of Provincetown attracts visitors year-round. This is one of the best places to head for a vibrant nightlife scene—there are cabarets, bars, and lounges aplenty. Pop into the Provincetown Art Association and Museum to check out local artwork, both historical and contemporary. Farther south, the Woods Hole Science Aquarium houses 140 marine animals native to the Northeast and mid-Atlantic region. You might even see marine biologists feeding the seals in the aquarium’s outdoor enclosure.

Located along the southern part of the cape, Hyannis is a small village with excellent shopping. It’s the home of the Cape Cod Mall, the largest retail center in the region, and the town’s charming Main Street is lined with small boutiques.
