7-Night Eastern Mediterranean Cruise
This 7-night eastern Mediterranean cruise takes travelers from the canals of Venice to Argostoli in the Ionian Islands and the white-washed, red-roofed buildings of Dubrovnik, Croatia. Aboard Costa Cruises’ massive Costa Mediterranea, you’ll be wowed by beautiful architecture inspired by 17th- and 18th-century Italian palazzos. Even the ship’s two-level Degli Argentieri Restaurant is adorned with objets d’art and frescoes. There are plenty of optional off-ship excursions, too, from a catamaran tour of Croatian islands in Split to a jeep tour of Corfu, Greece. See the itinerary for more information. This cruise includes:
- 7 nights of accommodations in an inside, outside, or veranda cabin
Day 1: Venice, Italy
After winding your way through Venice’s streets or admiring piazzas and palazzos while cruising its canals, you’ll board the Costa Mediterranea and begin your journey.
Day 2: Trieste, Italy
With its isolation from the rest of the Italian peninsula and lack of major landmarks, Trieste lets you feel less like a tourist and more like a local. Sip a cup of hot chocolate while strolling the grand canal and admiring the mix of cathedrals and synagogues.
Day 3: Split, Croatia
The second-largest city in Croatia, Split is also one of the area’s oldest cities, going back to the construction of the impressive Diocletian’s Palace in AD 305. Surrounded by coastal mountains, it also offers stunning views as you wander past the city’s thriving shops.
Day 4: Kotor, Montenegro
This beautiful walled city on the coast isn’t ideal for swimming, but it is perfect for losing yourself down winding alleyways and admiring the fortifications that have been standing since the 9th century.
Day 5: Argostoli, Greece
Argostoli is on the largest of all the Ionian Islands and surrounded by beautiful beaches. It was rebuilt into a busy seaside city after being destroyed by a 1953 earthquake, making its wide boulevards seem even more impressive.
Day 6: Corfu, Greece
Corfu was originally the seat of learning in early ancient Greece (Homer even called it a “beautiful and rich land”); today, its cypress trees and beaches are still drawing visitors. Make sure to check out the Byzantine and pre-Byzantine collection of artifacts at the Antivouniotissa Museum.
Day 7: Dubrovnik, Croatia
Baroque buildings and the startlingly blue waters of the Adriatic Sea capture travelers’ imaginations. Tour the city’s walls and forts before snorkeling through the clear blue sea.
Day 8: Venice, Italy
Disembark the ship and begin making your way home.

1: What travel documents are required?
The WHTI proposed rules require U.S. citizens entering the United States at sea or land ports of entry to have a passport, passport card, or other travel documents approved by the Department of Homeland Security. There is no service charge for guests under the age of 4. The service charge is used by the company as an incentive for staff who perform hotel duties and to continually improve the quality of service offered on board Costa ships. The booking must be paid in full and Costa’s Web Check-In must be completed in order for guests to receive their E-Docs.
