Regensburg

This is one of Germany’s largest and best-preserved medieval cities and has been designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

  • Louis VII of France visited here with his army, crossing the river en route to the Second Crusade via the city’s oldest stone Stone Bridge, which remains today.

Passau

This historic West German city sits at the confluence of the Inn, Ilz, and Danube Rivers, its waterfront promenade sprinkled with pastel patrician houses.

  • 17,774 pipes and 233 registers make up the organ at St. Stephen’s Cathedral, the largest of its kind. On select days, you can listen to organ concerts, whose resonant tones spill out onto the streets

Vienna

You’ll have the day to explore Vienna’s Habsburg architecture, riverside gardens, and intimate coffee shops.

Budapest

Sometimes called “Paris of the East,” Budapest has elegant boulevards, world-class museums, opera houses, Art Nouveau architecture, and a lively nightlife.

  • Highlights of the guide tour: the 13th-century Matthias Church dazzles with its spindly Gothic towers, intricate tile work, and paintings by native Hungarians.
