- Daily breakfast
- Airline taxes and fuel surcharges
Buenos Aires
Nicknamed “the Paris of South America,” Argentina’s capital offers neoclassical architecture, sidewalk cafés, and nightlife with both European and Latin flair. An optional half-day tour on day 3 introduces you to some of the city’s most famous sites, including the Obelisk, a national historic monument, as well as public squares Plaza San Martin and Plaza del Congreso. You’ll also see historic neighborhoods such as La Boca—known for its brightly painted houses and tango clubs—and modern Puerto Madero, a waterfront district with shopping, restaurants, and nightclubs. During an optional, full-day gaucho party on day 4 ($114/person), you can enjoy a traditional barbecue lunch of grilled meats and pork sausages along with live music, dancing, and horse racing on a ranch.
- Dinner and a show: During this optional activity on day 5 ($100/person), travelers visit downtown Buenos Aires for a delicious dinner while watching tango dancers passionately twirl and dip across the stage.
- Optional cruise: On this half-day excursion on day 6 ($49–$50/person), you’ll cruise down the Paraná River to the port of Olivos. Stops include the neo-Gothic Cathedral of San Isidro Cathedral and Tigre, a delta neighborhood that was once a hideout for smugglers.
- Avenida del Libertador: Many notable museums are located on this popular thoroughfare, including the National Museum of Fine Arts, National Museum of Decorative Arts, and Buenos Aires Japanese Gardens.
- Go shopping in Palermo Viejo for local fashion finds, or on Avenida Alvear for European designer clothing and antiques.
- Eat like a local: Head to a parrilla, or Argentine steak house, for tira de asado (grilled beef ribs) or milanesa, a breaded fried steak. These parrillas are everywhere in the sprawling city, but some of Buenos Aires’s best restaurants are in the Palermo district.
