Tour Itinerary at a Glance
This 6-day tour of Alaska lets you explore two of the state’s largest cities. You may also see the colorful northern lights and the “big five” of Denali National Park & Preserve: wolves, grizzly bears, Dall sheep, caribou, and moose. Airfare is not included; you’ll need to arrange your own transportation to Fairbanks at the beginning of the tour and home from Anchorage at the end.
- Day 1: Make your own way to Fairbanks; at night, you’ll go on an excursion to try to spot the northern lights.
- Day 2: Visit the Morris Thompson Cultural Center and the Trans-Alaska Pipeline Viewpoint on a tour of Fairbanks.
- Day 3: Tour Denali National Park & Preserve, where you’ll get to snowshoe.
- Day 4: Get the chance to see snow-covered Denali—North America’s highest mountain—during a ride on the Alaska Railroad.
- Day 5: Tour downtown Anchorage before a scenic drive on the Seward Highway and a tram ride to the summit of Mount Alyeska.
- Day 6: Return home.
