- Must-see attractions: Originally built in the 17th century, Catedral San José was partially reconstructed after an earthquake two centuries later. Today, you can see fallen pillars and other relics from the original structure.
- Plaza Mayor: This public square is the perfect spot to lounge beneath shady trees and people-watch, or wait for the square’s centerpiece fountain to go off.
- Chichicastenango Market: The smell of incense wafts down cobblestone pathways at this open-air bazaar, where locals sell spices and traditional Guatemalan masks.
- ChocoMuseo: Back in Antigua, this chocolate workshop gives visitors a glimpse into the chocolate-making process and the chance to sample its sweet treats.
