Vacation in Provence and Côte d’Azur with Airfare

You’ll have your chance to do just that on this 8-day trip, which puts you first in the medieval riverside city of Avignon and then in the heart of Monaco. From the moment you land in France, you’ll have a rental car on hand, so day trips are a breeze. The vacation includes:

Day 1: Flight to France
You’ll spend Day 1 on an overnight flight from the United States to Nice. The flight takes approximately 8–10 hours, depending on whether you depart from New York or Chicago. Upon arrival in Nice, you’ll pick up your rental car at the airport and make the scenic drive to your accommodations in Avignon.
Days 2–4: Avignon, Provence
Avignon is your home base for the first leg of the trip. Located in the famously idyllic region of Provence, this city on the Rhône River was the seat of papal power for much of the 14th century.

Days 5–7: Monte Carlo, Monaco
On Day 5, you’ll drive to Monte Carlo, a dazzling seaside town in the Côte d’Azur, also known as the French Riviera. Monte Carlo is the major district of Monaco, the world’s second-smallest country; with an area less than 1 square mile, it packs a lot of glamour into a little space.
