San Bernardino, California: Mediterranean Climate Close to LA

Set in the foothills of the mountain range that shares its name, San Bernardino is located in California’s Inland Empire, 65 miles east of Los Angeles. The climate here is comparable to the Mediterranean, with dry, hot summers and mild winters. Take a trip just a few miles north of the city into the San Bernardino National Forest, where you can hike past ponderosa pines, jeffrey pines, and other conifers.
