Historic Hotel in Heart of Mississippi River Town

First opened in 1915, the stately hotel stands three blocks from the Mississippi River in the heart of downtown. In 2009, a meticulous multimillion-dollar restoration breathed new life into the Blackhawk, even as the renovators worked to preserve the building’s most striking features, which include a soaring atrium, stained glass, and grand staircases.
Some of the unique amenities onsite include a New Orleans–style beignet café serving those popular puffed pastries alongside Starbucks coffee each morning. Just off the lobby, the upscale Spa Lucé offers relaxing services such as hot-stone massages and citrus-scented manicures. An indoor pool is lined with windows showing off downtown Davenport. On the first floor, you can eat fresh local fare for lunch and dinner at Bix Bistro. Dishes include cinnamon-brined Iowa pork chops and lasagna with pumpkin and spinach.
