Siem Reap is an ancient city in the heart of Cambodia. Most of the tourist activity here centers around the ancient sandstone temples, which comprise a UNESCO World Heritage Site deep within the rainforest. The best known of these are Angkor Wat—a monument to the Hindu lord Vishnu—and the Buddhist Angkor Thom, which features more than four dozen towers adorned with carved stone faces.

  • Explore Cambodia’s ancient past in Siem Reap and Angkor Archaeological Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Spread over 400 square kilometers, Angkor contains remnants of the Khmer Empire’s capitals from the 9th–15th centuries.
  • Watch the sunrise at Phnom Bakheng, a 9th-century five-tier temple in Angkor Archeological Park.
