Java is a pleasantly quiet town, tucked amid pine forests and maple groves in western New York. You can see the birds that inhabit Java’s trees at the Beaver Meadow Audubon Center, where hawks and other species thrive on more than 320 acres of wetlands and meadows. The surrounding areas are dotted with family-owned farms that sell maple syrup, home-baked goods, and handcrafted souvenirs. You can visit some of these during springtime to watch farmers tap into maple trees and produce the fresh syrup.
