Lake Murray State Park
Oklahoma’s first state park dates back to 1933, when the state legislature bought the land with the intention of putting Oklahomians struck by the Great Depression back to work. The park officially opened to the public in 1938, and remains one of the state’s most popular scenic attractions today, pulling in diverse crowds attracted by the beautiful wildness of the park as well as its many sporting opportunities, including fishing, boating, golfing, horseback riding, and an ATV area for 3/4 wheelers, motorcycles, and dirt bikes.
