Spanish-Style Hacienda next to Championship Desert Golf Course

The championship golf course at Cabo San Lucas Country Club stretches across an expanse of cactus-dotted desert terrain overlooking the famed Land's End arch in the Sea of Cortez. Created by the world-renowned course architects at Dye Designs, the links-style track features more than 80 sand bunkers, colorful bougainvillea bushes, and one of the longest holes in Mexico—a 600-yard double dogleg that wraps around a scenic lake. The course shares this striking landscape with Los Cabos Golf Resort, whose guests gain convenient access to the country club in addition to the resort’s other facilities.

Designed in the style of a Spanish hacienda, with whitewashed walls and red tile roofs, the resort is comprised of 74 villas decked out in custom-made furnishings. Each one-bedroom Diplomat and luxury villa comes with a kitchen, separate living and dining rooms, and a private patio overlooking the mountains or ocean.

The onsite Double Edge Restaurant and Bar surrounds a bi-level pool and offers outdoor dining on a covered patio. The eatery specializes in seafood with Mexican flair, offering dishes such as tequila prawns and bacon-wrapped jumbo shrimp. A soundtrack of Rat Pack tunes adds to the atmosphere of laid-back sophistication. Downstairs, Churchhill’s Lounge pays tribute to its namesake with a cigar bar and staged reenactments of the Yalta Conference.

Cabo San Lucas: Vibrant Beachside Town with Active Sport-Fishing Community

Situated at the southern tip of the Baja California peninsula, Cabo San Lucas has an energetic atmosphere fueled by beach parties and nightclubs. A lot of the action centers on the downtown area, where shops selling hand-embroidered dresses and carved ironwood figures line up next to bars playing live Latin music.

Owing to its oceanfront setting, Cabo is also a prime destination for watersports such as scuba diving and snorkeling. Sport fishing was what attracted the area's first tourists, and it remains a popular pastime, thanks to the more than 850 species of fish inhabiting the Sea of Cortez. Fishers set sail from the Cabo San Lucas marina in hopes of snagging tuna, swordfish, and marlins weighing between 100 and 700 pounds.
