Globetrotting Adventure on Award-Winning Airline

During the Age of Discovery, European explorers such as Ferdinand Magellan and Ponce de León crisscrossed the globe in search of new worlds and everlasting fame. Although Magellan never lived to finish circumnavigating the globe and Ponce de León never found the Fountain of Youth, those who successfully complete this around-the-world scavenger hunt will reap the immortal glory the great navigators only dreamed about.

On one epic, globetrotting trip, you'll visit up to 10 destinations in North America, Europe, and Asia—reached via Delta Air Lines and its SkyTeam partners Air France, KLM, and Alitalia. Along the way, you can participate in the optional scavenger hunt. To qualify to claim your prize at the end, here are the items you'll need to collect:

  1. Photo of you with a guy who kind of looks like Tom Cruise
  2. Photo of a man wearing lipstick and kissing a napkin
  3. Photo of a local holding a poem written for you in a language you don't speak
  4. Photo of a very cute or very ugly dog
  5. Photo of a local musician removing the low E or B string from his guitar and giving it to you as a keepsake
  6. Video footage of you singing a song in a local club
  7. Photo of you standing in a fountain in a town square
  8. Photo of you wearing a man's toupee (not your own)
  9. Video evidence that you created and participated in a flash mob
  10. Photo imitating the Beatles' Abbey Road album cover, featuring you as Paul

For returning five of the 10 items, you and your traveling companion can receive $250 each in Groupon bucks. Seven of 10 can get you $250 each in Groupon bucks, and a one-year Delta Sky Club membership for both ticketholders. For returning with all 10 items, you get those things, plus a digital HD video camera for each traveler and a pair of mounted wildebeest horns symbolizing the end of a long and arduous journey similar to the epic migratory treks undertaken each year by intrepid wildebeest herds.

After setting off either eastward or westward, you can chart your own three-continent expedition, choosing your stops based on Delta Air Lines' airport map, which covers world-class cities from Amsterdam to Tokyo. You can stroll the boulevards of Paris, marvel at the rugged grandeur of the American West, and thumb through the famous file folders of Manila—all in one trip. Upon touching down in each new metropolis, you can explore as much as your whims and travel visa allow or even hop a train to the next desired terminal (train fare at your own expense). For a complete rundown of options, consult this Groupon’s terms and conditions.
