Though Roatán—the largest of Honduras’s Bay Islands—used to be plagued by pirates looting the gold of Spanish galleons, most of the popular shipwrecks were purposefully sunk for divers. But that doesn’t make the many dive sites surrounding the island any less appealing. Walls of coral and more than 800 species of fish have turned them into natural wonders. Starfish, sea turtles, and eels are common sights during scuba-diving and snorkeling trips. The crystal-clear waters contain a wealth of Mayan, Paya, and Garifuna artifacts as well.

Farther inland, dense jungles and grassy hills stretch across the surface of the island. From the secluded bays of Roatán’s East End, you can get a change of scenery by taking winding dirt roads to smaller villages. The towns of Coxen Hole and French Harbour, in particular, provide a taste of local culture in the form of street vendors, an iguana farm, and shrimp fishers working the docks.

2. Is there an additional occupancy fee, or do I have to purchase another voucher? The standard occupancy of the one-bedroom beachfront villa is two adults. Please contact the property to add additional guests.

3. Will I be approached to attend a timeshare sales presentation? Customers are never obligated to attend a sales presentation. If you are approached and decline a presentation, you will not lose the value of your voucher or have to pay additional fees.

4. Which activities and amenities are included in the resort credits? No additional resort credits are offered with this deal.

5. Are dinner reservations required for restaurants? Is there a dress code? Dinner reservations are required for Luna Maya, Calkett’s and The Beach Club San Simon; however, they are not required at any of the other restaurants. If you would like to make a reservation, please visit the front desk between the hours of 8am - 1pm. All restaurants have a casual dress code.
