Tour Itinerary at a Glance
Prepared to get wooed by the natural beauties and centuries-old landmarks of Sri Lanka during this 9-day guided tour of the island country. As you move from city to city, you’ll get a chance to see elephants up close at a wildlife orphanage in Pinnawala and soak up the sun on the beaches of Bentota. There will also be plenty of free time to venture off on your own, or you can join an array of optional tours visiting everywhere from Sigiriya Rock to the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic, which was completed in 1595.
- Day 1: Board your flight to Sri Lanka.
- Day 2: Arrive in Colombo and transfer to your hotel.
- Day 3: Watch elephants eat and bathe at an elephant orphanage in Pinnawala, then head to Sigiriya, where you’ll spend the rest of the day at leisure.
- Day 4: Enjoy a day of rest or embark on your choice of optional tours.
- Day 5: Visit Matale Spice Garden to see how different spices are grown, then make your way to Kandy.
- Day 6: Relax at the hotel or go on an optional Kandy city tour, which stops at Peradeniya Royal Botanical Gardens and the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic.
- Day 7: Head to the coastal town of Bentota and hang out on the beach.
- Day 8: Continue relaxing with another day of rest, or visit the Kosgoda Sea Turtle Conservation Project and embark on a tour of Galle later in the day.
- Day 9: Transfer to the airport and fly back to the United States.
