Set on stilts above the private beach, the open-air yoga pavilion is the center of the resort. Here, you can take a variety of classes designed to connect the mind and body. Named after virtues such as serenity, harmony, and intuition, each of the resort’s bungalows has been crafted using reclaimed local wood and features an open-air design that eliminates the need for air conditioning. The resort uses its own water-filtration system, meaning no gas is spent shipping water in, and biodegradable and nontoxic soaps are used throughout the property.

At the onsite restaurant, meals are artfully crafted using all-natural, local ingredients. Past favorites have included plantain-crusted mahi-mahi in a tropical salsa and apple crisp made with goat-milk caramel, housemade granola, and nutmeg whipped cream. Troncones, Mexico: Sleepy Beach Town Secluded on the Mexican Riviera

Situated on the Mexican Riviera among travel hot spots such as Acapulco and Puerto Vallarta, Troncones is a hidden gem: one of the few authentic beach towns left on the Pacific coast. With a population of less than 1,000 people, it almost feels undiscovered, and even with a recent influx of hotels the area still has the appeal of a relatively undeveloped fishing-and-farming village. Chickens and burros wander the dirt roads, and seafood restaurants line the 3-mile stretch of uncrowded beach with tables and hammocks.
