Tour Itinerary at a Glance
Bangkok’s skyscrapers and Buddhist temples characterize a key dichotomy of Thailand: fast-paced modernism set against sacred tradition. This 14-day tour takes you to Bangkok, Chiang Mai, and Thailand’s countryside; you’ll see temples and ancient ruins, meet elephants, and visit bustling markets. An English-speaking tour guide will be on hand to acquaint you with each destination.
- Day 1: Depart for Thailand.
- Day 2: Arrive in Bangkok in the evening and head to your riverside hotel.
- Day 3: After a short orientation, head out on an included half-day tour of Bangkok’s Buddhist temples.
- Day 4 & 5: Enjoy Bangkok at your own pace.
- Day 6: Embark to Phitsanulok.
- Day 7: Travel to Sukhothai to see ruins dating back to the 13th century. Proceed to Lampang.
- Day 8: Explore Lampang’s narrow streets and horse-drawn carriages before heading to Chiang Rai.
- Day 9: Explore Chiang Rai at your own pace.
- Day 10: Drive to the “Rose of the North”, Chiang Mai in the morning, and explore it at your own pace in the afternoon.
- Day 11: Learn about elephants in Thai culture at an elephant camp, then smell flowers in the orchid garden.
