The untamed spirit of the Colorado wilderness is alive and well at the High Lonesome Ranch, where conservationists spend their days stewarding more than 400 deeded and permitted square miles of forests, grasslands, and alpine heights. The ranch is a haven for fly fishing, hunting, and horseback riding. After exploring the landscape, guests retire to rustic rooms with contemporary amenities such as WiFi and access to full kitchens.

Dude ranch experience: Live like a cowboy with this included package. The experience features five full days of horseback riding activities including arena orientation and lessons, trail rides, a western obstacle course, ranch sorting, and a cattle drive. Evening activities for this experience include cowboy poetry, attending an off site rodeo, and an adult date night, complete with an 8‑ to 10-course tasting menu, country western dance night with live band and kids’ teepee campout. Guests may also trade out two days of riding in favor of other activities, including wild horse tours, white water rafting, fly fishing, and/or an introduction to shooting sports.
