Tour Itinerary at a Glance
- Day 1: Depart for Turkey.
- Day 2: Arrive in Istanbul.
- Day 3: The morning starts with a half-day tour of Istanbul, where you’ll stop for pictures at the Blue Mosque, the 17th-century Ottoman Mosque, and gallivant through the Hippodrome. Visit Topkapi Palace, residence of Ottoman Sultans. The tour ends at the Spice Market, where you can spend the rest of the day exploring.
- Day 4: Head off on a drive to Gallipoli, where you’ll visit the Anzac Cemetery and tour the famous World War I site. You’ll then cross the Dardanelles by ferry to continue to the Canakkale province in northwest Turkey.
- Day 5: Visit the 4,000 year old city of Troy, the legendary center of the Trojan War. You’ll then drive to Pergamum and continue on to Izmir.
- Day 6: Enjoy a full day at leisure exploring Izmir.
- Day 7: Early in the morning, you’ll depart Izmir and drive to Pamukkale on your way to Antalya. Visit Hierapolis, a UNESCO World Heritage Site situated atop the Pamukkale hot springs, which have served as a thermal bath since the 2nd century B.C.
- Day 8: Enjoy a full day at leisure exploring Antalya.
- Day 9: Wake up early to depart Antalya for Cappadocia, where you’ll visit the 13th-century Caravanserai of Sultanhan en-route.
- Day 10: Enjoy a full day in Cappadocia at your leisure.
- Day 11: In the morning, depart for the capital and second largest city of Turkey, Ankara, in the morning. Upon arrival, explore the brick courtyard and avenue of monuments leading up to the Mausoleum of Kemal Ataturk, followed by a trip to the Anatolian Civilizations Museum.
- Day 12: Depart in the morning and return back to Istanbul in the afternoon, where you’ll spend the remainder of the day at your leisure. The trip ends with a Farewell Dinner at the hotel.
- Day 13: Depart Turkey for return flight home.
