Situated at the tip of a peninsula that juts into Jamaica’s Montego Bay, Sunset Beach Resort overlooks a swath of pristine Caribbean beaches. You can swim in the three breakwater-protected beaches (one of which is clothing-optional), or enjoy kayaking, paddle boating, and snorkeling. If you’d prefer to swim in salt-free water, the resort also has three pools, swim-up bars, outdoor hot tubs, and even an on-site water park. The water park alone has twin water slides—each 35 feet tall—as well as a lazy river, elevated hot tubs, and waterfalls. <p>

During a recent multi-million dollar renovation, the resort redesigned its restaurants: Try anything from intimate Italian dining at La Bella Vita to upscale Asian cuisine at Silk Road. Sunset Beach Bar & Grill serves traditional Caribbean fare, with specialties in tropical rum drinks and Jamaican jerk entrees. <p>

Elsewhere in the resort, you can participate in a game of giant chess, play on one of the tennis courts, or strike up a game of beach volleyball. Come nightfall, the resort hosts Caribbean-themed shows, and the Galaxy Disco opens its doors to revelers. <p>

As part of this Getaway, up to two kids ages 2–12 can stay, play, and eat free at the resort. There’s plenty onsite to keep young ones occupied, including supervised children’s activities and baby-sitting services.<p>

Situated on Jamaica’s northwest coast, Montego Bay draws vacationers year-round with its temperate climate, clear waters, and postcard-perfect beaches. Just a short ways inland, freshwater rivers such as the Martha Brae cut through expanses of jungle and forested mountains, making for scenic rafting.

Years ago, Montego Bay was a thriving banana and sugar exporter. You’ll find remnants of the city’s past at Sam Sharpe Square, where cobblestone streets stretch past grand Georgian architecture and a cast-iron fountain donated by a former banana baron. The city’s dynamic “Hip Strip” buzzes with duty-free boutiques and lively flea markets hawking brightly colored textiles, carved wooden sculptures, and natural healing oils.
