Day by Day Itinerary:

• Day 1: Depart the US for Switzerland.
  • Leave the US on an overnight flight to Zurich, Switzerland's largest city. Although known as a banking hub, this thriving city is also an excellent gateway into Switzerland's unique culture and heritage, boasting the Swiss National Museum, Kunsthaus are gallery, and one of the most prestigious shopping streets anywhere in the world, Bahnhofstrasse.
• Day 2: Travel to Lucerne.
  • Having cleared customs and immigration procedures at Zurich airport, transfer by train to Lucerne, a journey of approximately one hour. Situated on the northern shores of a lake of the same name, and with views of the Alps, Lucerne is a picturesque as any Swiss city. Having checked in to your hotel, don't miss the chance to take in Chapel Bridge, with a history dating back to the fourteenth century, as you explore the lakeshore. Then you might like to take to the waters of Lake Lucerne on a sightseeing boat trip.
• Day 3: Day at Leisure in Lucerne.
  • Spend the morning strolling amid the magnificent buildings of Lucerne’s Altstadt, or Old Town. Follow its cobblestone streets into evocative squares which tinkle to the sound of public fountains and are lined with tempting cafes. In the afternoon, ride the funicular train to fairy-tale Château Gütsch, a hotel with a terrace that cries out for the coming sunset.
• Day 4: Ride the Scenic Interlaken Express.
  • A breathtaking journey by train awaits onboard the scenic Interlaken Express, connecting Lucerne with Interlaken in around two hours. Large picture windows and comfortable seats give you the perfect vantage point from which to admire the incredible landscapes which unravel before you, from crystalline lakes to free-flowing waterfalls. On arrival into Interlaken, attractions include an almost endless series of marked hiking trails suitable for all levels of fitness and experience. From them walkers can get further extraordinary views of the two lakes, Brienz and Thun, which hold Interlaken in their stunning embrace.
• Day 5: Take the Jungfrau Railway to the 'Top of Europe'
  • More than one hundred years old yet still inspiring travelers with its epic feat of engineering, the Jungfrau Railway connects Interlaken with Europe’s highest train station of Jungfraujoch in approximately 1.5 hours. Passing through Lauterbrunnen and Kleine Scheidegg on route, and with gradients of up to 25%, the journey is as much a part of the experience as the incredible views that can be seen from the so-called ‘Top of Europe’ whatever the time of year. You return to Interlaken overnight.
• Day 6: Explore the alps with a Grindelwald Cable Car Ride.
  • A final night in Interlaken gives you the chance to explore the Alps in all their glory. The town of Grindelwald is known to be one of the most beautiful parts of the Swiss Alps, so this is where you will head. You first take a train from Interlaken’s Ost (East) Station to Grindelwald. This is followed by a short bus ride to the departure point for the cable car, which soars above the treeline to Grindelwald First, the highest of the mountain’s summits.
• Day 7: Return to Zurich for your flight to the US.
  • A train ride of approximately two hours in length will see you depart Interlaken and arrive in good time at Zurich International Airport. From here you will check in for your return flight to the US.
