Strip Steak, the newest venture from restaurateur George Martin, serves up a gourmet steakhouse menu of savory dry-aged meats, as well as seafood, chops, and other house specialties. Diners can commence consumption with chili pop shrimp, tossed in a sweet-and-spicy chili sauce ($10) or lobster, fontina, and crab fondue served with grilled ciabatta ($15). Strip Steak's raw bar boasts seared tuna sashimi ($12) or a dozen little-neck clams ($15) to warn stomachs of their imminent filling. To please perspicacious palates, the restaurant's “Certified Angus” strip steaks are aged for 21 days before being charred in high-heat broilers and sliced upon request, as in the 18-ounce New York sirloin ($38). Fishy dishes such as crabmeat-stuffed Norwegian salmon ($25) and filet mignon with lobster tail ($46) may prompt even shy diners to burst into celebratory sea shanties. Guests can relax in the intimate setting of the reclaimed turn-of-the-century house and sip spirits from the extensive wine list while soaking in art-deco decor.
