About Lavazza

Lavazza’s ascension to a worldwide household name was about a century in the making. Founded by Luigi Lavazza, the company started as a grocery shop in Turin, Italy, in 1895. Determined to create a superior product exclusively for his customers, Lavazza mixed different coffee beans to enhance their quality and flavor. By the 1920s, the small shop had evolved into a coffee production company. For decades, the brand was popular in Italy but unheard of outside it.
