####Framed Mark Rothko Prints Upon contemplation of his contemporaries, abstract painter Mark Rothko concluded, “It is a widely accepted notion among painters that it does not matter what one paints as long is it is well painted … There is no such thing as good painting about nothing.” A precocious student who'd dabbled with sketching at Yale, Rothko wandered into an art class to meet a friend and was so impressed that he enrolled in art school himself. Though the Russian-born artist paid great attention to such formal elements as color, shape, and composition, he refused define his work by these alone. This collection of prints highlights the iconic color-blocked works he painted between 1949 and 1967.
