The Deal

• $90 one admission to a leather journal binding class with bookbinder Andrea Kohler
• Upon purchase, you may schedule for one of the available dates
• You must reserve your date here in advance of the event

Groups meet at a private Ravenna location. The exact address will be shared after purchase.

Each event is capped at 2 participants; each event requires a minimum of 2 participants in order to take place.

What You’ll Do

In an intimate workshop, you and one other person join master bookbinder Andrea Kohler in her basement studio to try your hands at the delicate art of bookbinding from scratch. While following her guidance, you’ll bind pages between soft leather covers and create your own 4.5”x6.5” journal, which you’ll take home at the end of the session.

Andrea Kohler’s journey began in her hometown of Zurich, Switzerland, where she first honed her skills as a bookbinder. A four-year apprenticeship and several trips abroad later, and Andrea had her own atelier in Zurich, where she used her Old-World binding skills to produce modern, bespoke items. In 1996, she brought her business, Andrea Kohler Bookbindery, to Seattle, where she now teaches the craft to others.
