Arise Music Festival
At its heart, Arise Music Fest is a gathering of people passionate about social justice, environment, and community. It welcomes guests to the verdant grounds of Sunrise Ranch, a spiritual center on the foothills of the Rockies, where fest-goers participate in yoga sessions and health workshops in the morning then rock out at night. It encourages guests to leave no trace behind, and in return, Arise plants a tree for each person who attends. And of course, it presents a full lineup of music:
- Friday:
- Slightly Stoopid: Originally discovered by Sublime’s Bradley Nowell, this Ocean Beach outfit—which describes its sound as “a fusion of folk, rock, reggae, and blues, with hip-hop, funk, metal, and punk”—has earned a devoted following thanks to hits such as “Top of the World” and “2 A.M.”
- Also Performing: ott. | Stick Figure | Pepper | Shook Twins | Dustin Thomas | and more
- Saturday:
- Thievery Corporation: DJs Eric Hilton and Rob Garza combine a passion for bossa nova, dub, and jazz music into their own unique niche of the electronic music scene, ranging from tribal inspired beats to rap and reggae tunes. Expect to hear tracks from their newest album, 2018’s Treasures from the Temple, like “Music to Make You Stagger” and “Joy Ride.”
- Also Performing: OPIUO | Living Legends | Dragondeer | Family and Friends | and more
- Sunday:
- Trevor Hall: Blending roots, folk, and reggae music with a love of Eastern Mysticism, Trevor Hall has collaborated with artists including Ziggy Marley, Matisyahu, and Michael Franti. His fans (collectively known as The Villagers) helped his 2015 album, KALA debut at #2 on the iTunes Singer/Songwriter Chart and his most recent album, the independently released The Fruitful Darkness - which was released in installments coinciding with specific lunar dates - chart at #9 on the iTunes Alternative Chart
