- The Burndown: 250 mph racecars, jet cars, and wheelstanders light up Route 66 Raceway in an evening of rubber-burning bliss that includes the NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series competition, with classes such as the 260-mph Top Alcohol Dragster and Top Alcohol Funny Car. The pits also double as a car show area where families can get close to the horsepower.
- Highlights: Fire-breathing fast cars such as the Dragon’s Fyre Jet Truck (a 1940 Ford pickup powered by an afterburning turbo jet engine), the Cannonball Express jet car, the Crazy Train wheelstander, and Barry Richter’s jet funny car, which is capable of speeds up to 280 mph in a quarter mile.
- Other Festivities: A live rock concert, free kids club activities, a beer garden, and a fireworks finale
