About Carolina Mudcats
Though the same catfish logo still peeks out from a red "C," its barbels draping over the side, the Carolina Mudcats have grown a lot since their first game in 1991. Since then, Five County Stadium has hosted nearly 300 future Major League Baseball players in almost 2,000 Minor League games, attended by over 6,000,000 baseball fans. Today's Mudcats are part of a new era of minor-league baseball in North Carolina: starting in the 2017 season, the team is a Class A-Advanced affiliate of the MLB's Milwaukee Brewers. Mascot Muddy the Mudcat still trolls the stands of Five County Stadium, where "Mudzilla", a 2,788-square-foot video board broadcasts instant replays of the outfielders' most breathtaking stretches.
