About Devil's Head Resort

Surrounded by the glacier-formed peaks of the Baraboo Bluffs, Devil's Head Resort lures visitors to South Central Wisconsin year-round with the promise of natural escapes from the bustle of city living. The resort originally opened in 1970 with a 92-room hotel, 10 ski runs, four chairlifts, and a number of bars and restaurants, although it has since expanded into a modern winter haven by adding a conference center, six additional chairlifts, more hotel rooms, suites, and condos, and a slew of new runs.

Currently, the 500-foot-tall mountain features 30 newly widened runs ranging from bunny hills with two Magic Carpets to beginner-friendly slopes to double-black-diamond trails. To ensure that the powder remains fresh and pristine throughout the season, staff members groom each slope twice a day using snow groomers and fine-toothed combs. They even use PoleCat high-capacity snow-making machines to blanket the mountainsides when the weather conditions are less than ideal.

The 300 acres of skiable terrain also includes a fully stocked terrain park—complete with jumps and grinding rails for skiers and snowboarders—as well as a 3.5-mile cross-country-skiing loop that idyllically winds its way around a snow-covered golf course.
