- The outdoor playground is open to Discovery Center guests after 3:00 pm on weekdays (Tues -Fri) and all day on weekends
Discovery Centre
The Discovery Center is an ideal destination for everyone including families, school groups, adults, and children. It offers a playground of hands-on, interactive exhibits that provide a surprising, delightful, and inspiring educational experience, making science, technology, engineering, and math more accessible and relevant to everyday life.
As a long-respected leader in the region for unique and engaging educational experiences, the Discovery Center features over 200 interactive exhibits across 60,000 square feet. It also provides approximately 40 educational programs on topics ranging from geology to chemistry, physics to health and life sciences, and culture to nanotechnology, catering to individuals from birth to 90+ years of age. It is also the only youth activity center in Southern Missouri that offers a wide range of exhibits, hands-on activities, special events, and programs that explore diverse educational goals.

Discovery Center Springfield understands that the best learning happens during play, so it fields creative discovery through a variety of hands-on exhibits including an anti-gravity mirror, an astronomy gallery, and a miniature TV studio. Kids can ride a bike suspended 20 feet in the air or don a lab coat and explore the mysteries of DNA.
