What You’ll Do
With its colorful ingredients, careful construction, and precise plating, sushi is truly edible art. Learn to craft this eye-catching cuisine yourself during a two-hour, hands-on workshop. Chef Eric Stein guides you as you prepare a variety of maki, from cooking the rice to slicing the rolls. You’ll leave with the sushi rolling mat you used in class, along with any leftovers you might have.

Prepare the Sushi
You’ll learn to wash and cook sushi rice, and assemble spicy tuna hand rolls, cucumber and California maki, and other sushi variations. -
Perfect the Slice
Chef Eric will direct some of his focus to knife skills, which keep your digits safe and help you craft photo-ready rolls. -
Drink and Dine
When it’s time to taste your creations, feel free to break out the sake—the workshop is BYOB.

Eric Stein is a chef with a signature style: he finds inspiration in global flavors, uses seasonal ingredients, and aims to create meals that are nourishing as well as delicious. It’s a trifecta “The Wellness Chef” has perfected over the course of an impressive career. After receiving a Bachelor of Science degree in Culinary Nutrition and a Master of Science degree in Nutrition Education, Chef Eric went on to teach and cook, author a culinary textbook, and win the national Research Chef Association cooking competition—twice.
