The Scouting Report
When the Panthers take the ice on February 4, they face tough competition from the Toronto Maple Leafs, who proved themselves a tough challenge after winning the NHL Winter Classic. On February 6, the team faces off against the Detroit Red Wings, now a division rival following this season’s divisional reshuffling.
Before each game, fans can learn about the current roster from a member of the Panthers’ radio or TV broadcasters then head to their seats in the sideline balcony, lower bowl, or Duffy’s Sky Club, which includes buffet-style food and drinks. Afterward, fans step onto the ice to take a picture and possibly feel the thrill of being a professional athlete or the eternal suffering of being a puck.
Florida Panthers
As an expansion team in the 1993–94 NHL season, the Florida Panthers quickly found their footing, reaching the Stanley Cup Finals by 1996. The team plays its home games at BB&T Center, their home since its construction was completed for the 1998–99 season. The Center hosts hockey games as well as performances by artists such as Jay Z and Taylor Swift, though rarely at the same time.
