What You’ll Do

These lush mini ecosystems instantly enliven indoor areas while requiring little attention or upkeep. With all materials provided, expert terrarium-crafter Holley Simmons shows you how to artistically arrange three plants in nutritious soil, adorning the space with rocks, moss, and playful plastic animals.

Growing up, Holley Simmons wanted to be just like her mother, a bridal seamstress whose house was always full of beautiful gowns. Though young Holley was forbidden from tampering with the dresses, her mom encouraged her to create her own beautiful, artful projects, often fashioned from materials she found around the house. Holley’s carried that DIY spirit straight into the present, most recently becoming enraptured by terrariums’ contained perfection, selling them at festivals and leading classes where students can make their own.
