The Performances
- The Music of Star Wars (Thursday, December 3, at 7:30 p.m.): This program tides fans over until The Force Awakens with some of the sci-fi franchise’s most memorable (and Academy Award–winning) scores, such as the triumphant title sequence, Princess Leia’s theme, and Darth Vader’s menacing march. Costumes are encouraged.
- Pixar in Concert (Saturday, December 5, at 7:30 p.m.): Watch clips from all 14 Pixar films, including The Incredibles, Brave, and the Toy Story trilogy, while hearing their incredible scores played live by a full orchestra.
- Holiday Pops (Thursday, December 10, at 7:30 p.m.): Guest vocalists join the Symphony for an evening of holiday favorites and heartwarming carols, complete with the city’s only indoor snowfall.
- Handel’s Messiah (Saturday, December 19, at 8 p.m.): Best known for the soul-shaking “Hallelujah” chorus at its heart, Handel’s Messiah meditates on the first Christmas with English lyrics drawn from the King James Bible and Book of Common Prayer.
- Toast To the New Year! (Thursday, December 31, at 9 p.m.): Bid adieu to 2015 and welcome in the new year with music, dancing, fireworks, and, of course, a champagne toast.
