NEVADA RAILROAD MUSEUM to HENDERSON, NV (8 miles rt)
All Las Vegas rail bike excursions start at the Nevada State Railroad Museum in Boulder City, NV and travel westward to the Henderson city limit. Travel along the railroad track that was built by the Union Pacific Railroad in 1929 to bring supplies for the building of the Hoover Dam. While traveling through the desert you will pass through the museum property where historic rail cars are refurbished, see desert wildlife, and go over short bridges. Ride along US Route 93 where drivers will give friendly waves and truckers will blow their airhorns. Pass by the Railroad Pass Casino, one of the oldest casinos in Nevada (built in 1931 and issued gaming license #4). Just past the casino the excursion will reach the turn around point. Bikes will be turned for the return trip, giving riders 20 minutes of relaxation time at our hidden desert oasis. Restrooms available at both departure point and half way point. Children under the age of 8 may not be able to reach the pedals, but may still sit and enjoy the ride.
