2013 marks the start of a new chapter for the Lexington Legends, who will begin their first season as a Class A affiliate of the Kansas City Royals, replete with a new logo, new uniforms, and a roster of talented prospects. This year’s team features centerfielder Bubba Starling, named the Royals’ top prospect by MLB.com.

Perched behind home plate, club-level seats feature wider-than-average dimensions and come with a variety of perks, including access to the Kentucky Ale Taproom, where 10 HDTVs and a patio dispense unique views of the onfield action next to a full-service bar. Highlighted by 36-cent hotdogs on Tuesdays, a season-long schedule of promotions amplifies the family-friendly fun by letting kids run the bases on Sundays or eat free on Mondays—outdoing more archaic traditions such as making kids mow the outfield before they can have any popcorn.

About Lexington Legends

When the Legends first stepped onto the field at Whitaker Bank Ballpark in 2001, they broke a nearly half-century dry spell of pro baseball in the city of Lexington. That first season, they made their presence known by winning the South Atlantic League championship and trying to rename City Hall after themselves. Since their inauguration in '01, the Legends have sent sent over 80 players to the majors, fulfilling the promise of their name and creating their own legacy.
