Midwest Railway Preservation Society
The Midwest Railway Preservation Society (MRPS) is driven by a dedicated team of regular and part-time volunteers who are committed to promoting and preserving northeast Ohio’s rich railroad history. Railroads played a significant role in the region’s industrial growth, and MRPS reflects this heritage through various projects and activities. Originally established as the Midwest Railway Historical Foundation on December 8, 1955, the organization later changed its name to better align with its mission of preservation. MRPS focuses on collecting, restoring, and preserving vintage railroad equipment, facilities, and memorabilia. By doing so, they provide the public with a museum-like experience that allows current and future generations to explore and appreciate a vital part of railroad history.
