Montana Whitewater History
Montana Whitewater was founded in 1992 by Bill Zell and Pete Mommsen, two rafting guides who wanted to share their love of the river with others. What started as a small operation soon grew into a well-established adventure company, expanding to the Yellowstone River in 1998. In 2006, Montana Whitewater acquired Yellowstone Raft Company, adding new permits and services, including fly fishing. Over the years, they continued to expand, launching ziplining tours in 2010 and tubing rentals in 2012.
Despite its growth, Montana Whitewater remains a family-run business committed to high-quality outdoor experiences. With locations on three rivers and a team of dedicated guides, they continue to provide safe, enjoyable rafting trips for visitors of all ages.
