Atop the largest commercial sailing catamaran on the Great Lakes, passengers take in the beautiful views and enchanting scents of the bay

THE LARGEST COMMERCIAL SAILING CATAMARAN ON THE GREAT LAKES

The Nauti-Cat was built in 1988 by custom fabricator William Hartzog in Houston, Texas.
At 47 feet long and 29 feet wide, The Nauti-Cat has almost 50 tons of displacement.
She handled most weather conditions in the Gulf of Mexico due to the Simpson & Wild design.

You can see the Nauti-Cat from a distance, because she has almost 1,000 square feet of sail propelling her.
Since the Nauti-Cat is a catamaran, the ship slices through the water with great stability, providing a soothing atmosphere.
In 1998, the Nauti-Cat was re-outfitted with all new gear including a 63? mast, boom, winches, halyards, sails, and engines.

With all these new renovations the Nauti-Cat made her debut in Traverse City.
On board you will also find 2 "heads" (That?s bathrooms for you land lubbers!).
The Nauti-Cat now sails on West Grand Traverse Bay in Traverse City, Michigan.

About Nauti Cat Cruises

As the winds pick up across the surface of West Grand Traverse Bay, they occasionally catch the roughly 1,000 square feet of sail that towers above the deck of the Nauti-Cat, allowing the catamaran to smoothly cruise through the water at speeds of up to 14 knots. The crew leads as many as six outings each day depending on the weather conditions. During these day trips, as many as 37 passengers can savor views of the sunset or the Old Mission Peninsula's luxurious homes while they relax on a vessel complete with modern amenities, including two restrooms and an on-board cash bar. On select Friday and Saturday evenings, the Nauti-Cat hosts lively musical performances as local bands or DJs set up on a custom-designed stage on the vessel's bow.
