On July 4th, the Northwest Indiana Oilmen host a pregame concert and face off in a friendly exhibition against the United States Military All-Star Baseball Team. Visitors can meet veteran and active duty servicemen as the U.S. team includes members from every branch of the military, with many of them serving multiple deployments in Iraq and Afghanistan. High Noon, a band that recently signed a Nashville contract, will also perform a pregame country concert with veteran Bill Wayne. Proceeds from the event will benefit the Northwest Indiana Veterans Action Council, which serves on behalf of the 42,000 veterans in the area.
Gates open at noon for the concert and the baseball game begins at 3 p.m.
