The Polo Party at Westworld of Scottsdale’s polo field celebrates several hundred years of sporting horsepower with equestrian festivities and a fleet of classic automobiles. Prior to admiring the latest advances in horseback victory dances, visitors can sprinkle palates with delicate potables at the Olive & Ivy Mimosa and Champagne Lounge. At 1:00 p.m. players and their equine companions will take the field, with ponies galloping in quick bursts and players harnessing booming mallets, unerring aim, and instinctual hatred of spheres. Patrons holding Turf Paradise Club tickets can enjoy shaded mid-field seating, as well as food and beverage service available at an additional cost from Chef Eddie Matney of Eddie’s House. Halftime festivities will include a parade of Arabian horses followed by a traditional stomping of the divots, during which visitors may take the field to socialize while flattening upturned grass and claiming any loose change that may have fallen from the ponies’ pockets.
When not busy keeping score, guests can wind their way through rows of vintage autos soon to be featured in the 41st Annual Barrett-Jackson Collector Car Auction as well as posh sports cars on display from the Arizona Lamborghini and Ferrari Clubs.
