Up & coming bull riders grasp for dear life on bucking steeds as barrel man ropes in laughter with clownish antics
Bull riders work for years to cultivate a morbid fear of clowns, allowing them to instinctually flee to safety when thrown off their steeds and chased down by concerned barrel men. Dash away from tramplings and oversized noses with today’s GrouponLive deal: for $25, you get two general-admission tickets to the Ross Coleman Invitational at the Molalla Buckeroo rodeo grounds (up to a $70 value at the gate, or a $60.75 value online, including all ticketing fees). Gates open at 5 p.m., with bull riding at 7:30 p.m. Choose between the following dates:
• Friday, August 26
• Saturday, August 27
The seventh annual Ross Coleman Invitational lassoes in all the buck-wild action of its predecessors as some of the world’s most exciting bull riders take the rodeo stage to hold on for their dear lives. Held on the hometown rodeo grounds of PBR pro Ross Coleman, this stop on the PBR Touring Pro Division features up-and-coming cowboys who will try to prove their worth on bucking bulls supplied by PBR Stock Contractor of the Year Chad Berger. Having infuriated his bulls with looped audiotapes of Hemingway reading The Sun Also Rises, Chad releases them to do their damage while barrel man Flint Rasmussen ropes in laughs with his impromptu dance routines and clownish antics.
After Ross and his bull-riding compatriots dazzle with their bovine brilliance, guests can dance the night away at an after-party fueled by classic country songs from The Piedmont Boys. Those who wish to test their own saddle skills can ride the mechanical bull while pros stifle laughter and sign Stetsons at the autograph table. A portion of event proceeds will help fund the Make a Wish Foundation of Oregon.
