Salute to Vienna New Year’s Eve Concert

• The theme: The Strauss Symphony Orchestra of America leads an ensemble European singers, ballroom dancers, and ballet through an annual toast to the culturally rich city of Vienna. This year’s performance includes a collection of Strauss waltzes and melodies from Strauss waltzes including The Blue Danube waltz.
• Notable soloists: Austrian soprano Alexandra Reinprecht, who regularly performs operetta roles including Rosalinde (Die Fledermaus) and Hanna (Merry Widow), and Slovenian-born Matjaž Stopinšek, who’s played Florestan in Beethoven’s Fidelio
• The conductor: Oliver Ostermann, an Austrian singer, pianist, and composer who’s conducted at the Vienna Conservatory and European opera houses and orchestras including Volksoper Wien, Hofer Symphoniker, and Oper Graz
• Highlights: Dancers from Austria’s Europaballett St. Pölten infuse the evening’s entertainment with a vibrant choreographed ballet performance, while the International Champion Ballroom Dancers gather together some of the most esteemed European dancers for a waltz onto the stage.
