After more than 20 years of artisanal winemaking, Tarara Winery showcases its versatility as a venue for world-class musical talent with the Toast to the Tunes Summer Concert Series, where live music intermingles with the breeze off Shadow Lake. Backlit by the evening sun’s reflection off the lake, bands take the stage to dazzle families, friends, and Sasquatches crouching among the grapevines. Self-described yacht rockers The Regal Beagles navigate the smooth seas of soft rock, while The Nighthawks honor the vineyard’s lush overgrowth with their own brand of roots rock, honed in gigs with music legends such as Carl Perkins and Muddy Waters. Before their set, compatriots Duffy Kane and the Freedom Train and Moondog Medicine Show warm up the crowd with face-melting blues riffs. Decked out in plaid kilts that reflect the interweaving of Celtic, classical, and folk music into their signature sound, The Rogues put a nontraditional spin on ballads inspired by the Emerald Isle. The Reflex takes audiences back to the era of Reagan and 8-bit video games with an ’80s tribute set before The Kelly Bell Band closes the series with more bluesy textures than a Turkish mosaic.
Though fare and wine tastings are not included with this deal, guests may bring picnics or order from a concert menu provided by local caterers. However, no outside alcohol is legally permitted on premises, including the parking lot. Children ages 7 and younger are admitted for free.
